Samsung Galaxy S26 Series – A new chapter for agentic AI, privacy and everyday ease

The Galaxy S26 series – made up of the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus and the flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra – is Samsung’s most cohesive lineup yet. Announced on 25th February 2026, the phones blend familiar design with thoughtful upgrades and a richer Galaxy AI experience. As a retailer in India, Darling Retail offers the Galaxy S26 series with our own pre‑book benefits and local support. You can reserve your phone through us and enjoy limited‑time incentives while buying locally.

Samsung describes this generation as “an AI phone featuring a customized processor that transforms your experience, our brightest camera system and the world’s first built‑in Privacy Display on mobile — all in the palm of your hand to enhance your everyday life.” That sentiment captures the ambition behind the Galaxy S26 series and sets the tone for what follows.

Unified design and colours

Samsung kept the flat backs and matte textures that people loved on last year’s models but refined the look for 2026. All three phones have flatter sides and gently rounded corners for a smoother grip. The Ultra even sheds the sharp edges that made the S25 Ultra feel boxy, trimming the thickness to 7.9 mm and the weight to 214 g. The ambient island camera design gives all three models a unified look, and there’s a choice of Cobalt Violet, Sky Blue, Black and White, with Pink Gold and Silver Shadow reserved for Samsung’s own store.

Galaxy AI that helps without shouting

Samsung calls its latest approach “agentic AI” — intelligence that learns your habits, understands context and fades into the background. Built on the Personal Data Engine (PDE), Galaxy AI stores and processes your preferences on the device itself. It then encrypts that data using Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) and Knox Vault to keep sensitive information safe, and you can choose whether AI runs on device or in the cloud. This foundation lets Galaxy AI offer truly personal suggestions without sending your data to remote servers.

At a practical level this means features that help you every day. Call Screening answers unknown calls and shows you who’s calling and why. Now Nudge pops up helpful buttons based on what’s on your screen – for example, offering to share recent trip photos or open your calendar. Now Brief sends bite‑sized summaries of your day, reminding you about appointments, exercise or travel plans.

The new Finder search quickly pulls up flight details or notes from across apps. Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant, now understands natural language and performs multi‑step tasks. You can even Circle to Search with Google to look up multiple objects in a photo. An AI Document Scan flattens receipts automatically, while Photo Assist and Creative Studio let you edit images or generate stickers using simple prompts.

Performance built for AI

The Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus use Samsung’s new Exynos 2600 processor manufactured on a 2 nm process, while the S26 Ultra features a customised Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip. Samsung claims up to 19 % faster CPU, 24 % faster GPU and a 39 % boost to NPU performance on the Ultra. All three phones now start with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, and the Ultra offers up to 16 GB/1 TB. A redesigned vapor chamber improves heat dissipation by spreading heat across a larger surface area, keeping gaming and multitasking smooth.

Displays and the world’s first Privacy Display

Every model features a bright Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 1 to 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate. The S26 has a 6.3 inch (15.93 cm) display, the S26 Plus steps up to 6.7 inch (16.91 cm) and the S26 Ultra stretches to 6.9 inch (17.49 cm). Peak brightness reaches 2 600 nits on the Ultra, and an anti‑reflective coating reduces glare.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra includes an innovative built‑in Privacy Display – a combination of hardware and software that dims side‑viewing angles so onlookers can’t see your screen. You can activate it manually from the Quick Panel or set it to turn on for specific apps, PIN entry or notification pop‑ups. Partial Screen Privacy hides only notifications, while Maximum Privacy dims the entire display. This feature makes checking messages on a bus or train more discreet without needing a separate privacy filter.

Cameras and creativity

Samsung kept the proven camera hardware on the S26 and S26 Plus; both still sport a 50 MP main, 12 MP ultra‑wide, 10 MP 3× telephoto and 12 MP selfie camera. AI processing and Photo Assist improvements promise cleaner images and easier editing. The S26 Ultra continues to lead with a 200 MP main sensor that now features a wider f/1.4 aperture and a 50 MP telephoto (5×) with an f/2.9 aperture. The larger apertures let in 47 % more light on the main camera and 37 % more on the 5× telephoto compared with last year, improving low‑light shots. There’s also 8K video at 30 fps, an auto‑framing mode for 4K video that keeps subjects centred, and Super Steady video with a new horizontal lock to stabilise footage even when you tilt the phone.

Battery life and charging

Battery capacity scales with screen size. The S26 uses a 4 300 mAh cell, the S26 Plus a 4 900 mAh cell, and the S26 Ultra retains a 5 000 mAh battery. Samsung quotes up to 30 hours of video playback on the base model and 31 hours on the Plus and Ultra. Charging speeds are upgraded across the range: the S26 supports 25 W wired/15 W wireless charging, the S26 Plus bumps wired charging to 45 W, and the Ultra introduces Super Fast Charging 3.0, reaching 75 % in around 30 minutes thanks to a 60 W charger.

How it helps in everyday life

  • Privacy made practical: The Privacy Display on the S26 Ultra is ideal for commuters, students and professionals who need to glance at messages or enter passwords in public. It shields your screen from curious eyes, yet switches off when you’re back in private.
  • AI as a personal assistant: Now Nudge surfaces your calendar or photo gallery at just the right moment, while Call Screening answers unknown calls and summarises the caller’s intent. You spend less time toggling settings and more time getting things done.
  • Protect your data on device: The Personal Data Engine gathers and processes your information on your phone, then encrypts it using KEEP and Knox Vault. You decide whether AI is processed on‑device or in the cloud, so helpful suggestions still appear without exposing your data.
  • Better photos without effort: Wider apertures on the S26 Ultra let you capture bright night scenes, and AI Photo Assist can remove unwanted objects or fill backgrounds. Students taking notes or travellers capturing memories get cleaner, shareable photos.
  • Longer battery life: Larger batteries and more efficient chips mean you can stream, game and work all day. Fast charging reduces downtime – 75 % in 30 minutes on the Ultra.
  • Smooth performance: With at least 12 GB of RAM and powerful processors, multitasking between apps, editing photos and playing graphics‑heavy games feels responsive. The improved vapor chamber keeps the device cool.

Nightography video & creative tools

Samsung’s Pro Visual Engine and AI image signal processor work behind the scenes to make night photos and videos clearer. Wider apertures on the S26 Ultra allow more light to hit the sensor, capturing vivid colours and details after dark. A new Horizontal Lock in Super Steady video keeps footage level even when you tilt the phone, so late‑night vlogs and concert clips look stable.

Editing is equally simple. Photo Assist uses generative AI to remove stray objects, fill backgrounds and even move subjects around the frame with a tap. A built‑in Document Scan flattens receipts and notes automatically, and Creative Studio turns your photos into stickers or art. These tools run on device thanks to the improved NPU, so they’re fast and private.
